Marketing Manager

As the Marketing Manager, reporting to the General Manager, you will be solely responsible for all marketing activities for The Mercury. You will be a self-starter with a strategic approach for marketing and event management and will have an energetic and enthusiastic approach to revitalising and refocusing the communications and profile to achieve commercial outcomes.

Duties

  • Devise, plan and successfully implement a bold new marketing strategy with focus on driving the subscription (membership) base
  • Manage multiple strategies to market and promote both the cinema and the industry development sides of the organisation with specific campaigns designed for each cohort
  • Drive brand awareness and partnership opportunities
  • Plan and deliver marketing campaigns across digital, printed programs, social media and advertising
  • Design and produce promotional materials including booklets, flyers and digital collateral
  • Craft clear copy for EDMs, website and other correspondence in collaboration with the Exhibition Manager and Industry Development Manager
  • Create and post social media content
  • Liaise with stakeholders and partners across promotional and event activities
  • Manage a small team of volunteers and interns working across various marketing areas including community outreach targeting potential new cinema audiences

  • Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in successfully devising and delivering marketing strategy and campaigns
  • Demonstrated delivery of brand awareness campaign, delivering expanded sales or audiences
  • Experience in creating and managing media relationships, creating opportunities for partnership and promotion
  • Proficiency with design tools including Canva, social media and online platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 including OneDrive and Teams
  • Strong organisational and planning skills

  • Desirable Skills & Experience

  • An interest in cinema and the broader screen industry
  • An understanding of community focussed not-for-profit arts organisation environment
  • Experience managing interns and volunteers
  • Experience in working in a member-based organisation or delivering for a subscription-model business
