SASA Producer

The SASA Producer will coordinate the South Australian Screen Awards (SASA), working across award submissions, judging and event production of Gala Awards presentation in June 2024.

This position demands a versatile individual with strong administrative skills, excellent project/event management capabilities, and the ability to effectively communicate with emerging screen makers, sponsors, stakeholders and cinema audiences.

Industry Development Manager

With the departure of our fantastic Development and Programs Manager, Stephanie Jaclyn, we’re looking to fill her role of Industry Development Manager. The position reports to the General Manager and works closely with The Mercury team to design and implement high-level screen industry development programs including production initiatives, industry events and professional career development activities aimed at emerging screen makers.

The incumbent will work with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and requires strategic planning skills, project/event management capabilities and strong administrative skills. The ability to communicate with novice and emerging screen makers, and to identify and nurture talent is essential to this role. The incumbent must be able to provide advice and guidance in terms of project development, production, and post-production of screen works at the early career stage, as well as career development opportunities and advice for getting starting in the screen industry.

The position will be responsible for the design and delivery of the:
• Quicksilver Production Program
• Launch Lab Career Development Workshop Program
• Hanlon Larsen Screen Fellowship
• Script Club, Script Consultations and use of the Shane Brennan Writer’s Room
• South Australian Screen Awards (with SASA Producer and Marketing Manager)
• Any other program that is developed with a secure source of funding.

The incumbent will be required to work closely with the Exhibition Manager to ensure that screening events like Heaps Good Cinema and Cinemechanica provide networking and educational opportunities for emerging screenmakers.

Office and Finance Manager

Reporting to the General Manager, the Office and Finance Manager will coordinate day-to-day office operations, manage financial systems and oversee all aspects of the organisational finances.

The Office and Finances Manager covers basic office administration for a busy team including reception duties, assistance with managing on-site filmmaker facilities and equipment hire, and providing all subscribers and visitors with exceptional customer service.

This position demands a versatile individual with strong administrative skills and financial acumen. It requires general technical competencies, project/event management capabilities, and the ability to effectively communicate with emerging screenmakers and cinema audiences.
