Stitch N Screen
Stitch ‘n Screen
A relaxed cinema night for makers & movie lovers
Ever wished you could bring your embroidery, knitting, or sketchbook to the cinema but it’s just too dark?
Stitch ‘n Screen is designed exactly for that.
This is not your typical movie night. The house lights stay gently dimmed so you can comfortably craft while watching a feel-good, familiar film. Whether you’re working on a long-term project or just bringing something small to keep your hands busy, this is your space to settle in, get cosy, and create.
Come solo or with friends, there’s a relaxed, social atmosphere and an optional pre-film meet-up for anyone wanting to connect with fellow makers.
What to expect
A comfort-viewing film
Lights kept on (dimmed) for crafting
A welcoming, low-pressure, social environment
Optional pre-screening meet-up
Bar open for drinks + cinema snacks available
Complimentary tea & coffee
Crafting guidelines
All crafts are welcome, as long as they fit within your seat space (no large equipment like sewing machines). Please be mindful of those around you and leave your space clean.
Good to know
– Seating is unallocated (arrive early to sit with your group)
– Doors open 30 minutes before the film
– The Mercury is a licensed venue
– Wheelchair accessible (contact us for any access needs)
Whether you’re a seasoned maker or just want something to do with your hands while you watch, Stitch ‘n Screen is about slowing down, getting creative, and enjoying film in a whole new way.
