Adapting an, at the time, unpublished Tom Ripley novel, this taught thriller sees Ripley, who deals in forged art, suggesting a picture framer he knows would make a good hit man. Dennis Hopper and Bruno Ganz are so great that Wenders changed the title to reflect their chemistry.
