The South Australian Screen Awards (SASA) are the local screen industry’s night of nights – a high-profile celebration of new talent, creative excellence, and career achievement. SASA provides a vital platform for South Australian screen practitioners to showcase their work across drama, comedy, documentary, animation, music video, and web series, shining a spotlight on the bold and diverse voices shaping our state’s screen future.

The SASAs to Return in 2027 with a Fresh New Vision

The South Australian Screen Awards (SASA) will take a planned hiatus in 2026 as preparations begin for an exciting new chapter.

A beloved celebration of South Australia’s screen industry and a longstanding fixture on the state’s creative calendar, the SASAs will return in 2027 with a refreshed format.

The pause provides an opportunity to review  the awards, including exploring new sponsorship and partnership opportunities, and to ensure the SASAs continue to honour excellence while remaining relevant, dynamic and inspiring for filmmakers, creatives and audiences alike.

We are excited to work collaboratively with our sponsors, partners and stakeholders to shape the future of the awards.
