ActNow Theatre is offering a FREE filmmaking intensive for our communities presented in partnership with The Mercury and Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS).

The Introduction to Filmmaking Intensive is a unique opportunity for South Australians to learn from leading industry experts about filmmaking; including practical filmmaking skills and an overview of different career pathways into the industry.

This program is ideal for anyone curious about film — whether you’re a film lover wanting to learn how movies are made, or someone considering a career in film but unsure where to begin.

Welcome to Day 2 of the three day course. For this session, we’ll be taking a deep-dive into the practicalities of a film set. Leading our set exhibition will be Devris Hasan, who is a cinematographer, producer and educator with over 20 years of experience in creating and educating people about digital storytelling and content creation. You’ll get a hands-on look at everything from camera setup and operation, lighting, sound and the duties of running a set.
