LAUNCH LAB: Picture Post-Production

Coming on May 31

Run Time: 360 min.

Demystifying Picture Post-Production: From Rushes to Delivery

The Picture Post-Production Lab offers a comprehensive exploration of the post-production journey, blending technical understanding with creative application.

Through insightful real-world case studies, we’ll examine diverse editing styles and director-editor collaborations in documentary and drama across various budget levels. We’ll take a deep dive into establishing a professional post workflow within Premiere Pro, followed by a detailed presentation on the offline editing process, from initial assembly to picture lock. Finally, a practical demonstration in DaVinci Resolve will illuminate the critical stages of conform, confidence checks, colour grading, and online finishing.

The Launch Lab will be co-presented by Guest Presenters Tania Nehme and Sam Matthews.

With over 30 years’ experience working on drama and documentaries, Tania’s editing credits have given her the opportunity to collaborate on many insightful and entertaining films that have enjoyed critical success at festivals including Cannes, Venice, Berlin, Sundance to name a few. Her editing credits include feature films such as Monolith, Tanna, and The Sound of One Hand Clapping; feature documentaries like Every Little Thing and My Name Is Gulpilil; plus an array of award-winning short films, including Ayaan and Myth.
