Pete Monaghan is a writer, script producer, editor, and comedian. With Ruth Estelle he is one half of Word Ninjas. Word Ninjas create exciting original content with pitch decks and pilot scripts available for market. Their projects are regularly optioned. Their feature film OK Boomer, starring Heather Mitchell and Bryan Brown, is in pre-production with Brouhaha Entertainment and Pete’s family feature Best Christmas, Ever! is out to market. Pete’s co-written television series Kinmont Brown, a supernatural twisted history, The Balmain Bookclub, a cosy mystery, and Honey Gum Creek, a live-action kids show about the last baby Bunyip, were all, with others, recently pitched at Content London. Word Ninjas’ musical television dramedy, Sharehouse, is in late development funded by Screen Australia and the South Australian Film Corporation. Pete also works with clients to improve their stories, comedy, and pitches. He is a credited Script Editor and Story Consultant. Pete works as a mentor for young writers with various intellectual disabilities or challenges, setting goals and guiding them through their creative writing and script writing journeys. Pete continues to perform comedy as a feature act. A huge fan of crime novels and fun, unconventional detectives, he has written his first novel, The Joke’s On You.
