KELLY LEFEVER

One of Australia’s most accomplished television writers, Kelly Lefever has written more than seventy hours of television, and script produced, script edited, story-lined, and story edited more than six-hundred and fifty. She is also a highly sought after script editor and developer for feature films, with credits including THE MERGER, THE BLACK BALLOON and ROY HOLLSDOTTER LIVE, and multiple award winning short films. She has received 5 AWGIE nominations, winning for both SOMETHING IN THE AIR  and THE CIRCUIT, an AFI nomination for Most Outstanding Television Script for HOME IS WHERE THE PAST IS – THE CIRCUIT.  

Kelly was shortlisted for the Kit Denton Disfellowship for courage in writing, and in 2014 she was awarded the Foxtel Fellowship in Recognition of an Outstanding and Significant Body of Work. Kelly is the Co-Creator, Script Producer and Head Writer of the SBS 2 x 6 part mini series THE CIRCUIT – winner of 2 Chicago Film Festival HUGO Awards for Best Mini Series (series 1 and 2) and the Human Rights Reconciliation Award.  Her other credits include THE CODE, THE DOCTOR BLAKE MYSTERIES (series and telemovies), MR. AND MRS. MURDER, CITY HOMICIDE, SOMETHING IN THE AIR, and PRISONER. Most recently she has been Script producer and writer on three seasons of Acorn’s popular drama series UNDER THE VINES.

Kelly sat on the board of Film Victoria for six years, and is a current Screenrights board member. She is a former Vice President of the Australian Writers’ Guild.
