Moviejuice and The Mercury are thrilled to be presenting AFTERNOONS OF SOLITUDE, the newest film by Catalan slow cinema auteur Albert Serra (PACIFICTION, THE DEATH OF LOUIS XIV).

Named the best film of 2025 by Cahiers du Cinéma, this is a hypnotic, uncompromisingly brutal documentary study of Peruvian bullfighter Andrés Roca Rey. Serra’s trademark ritualistic long takes and gift for dry black comedy craft a pointed, disturbing portrait of macho masculinity as equal parts ridiculous and grotesque performance.
