LAUNCH LAB: Crew Workshop

Coming on June 14

Run Time: 360 min.

Ever dreamed of working in film or TV, but the vast landscape of roles feels like a maze?

Do you find yourself wondering where your unique talents could truly shine behind the scenes?

The Mercury is excited to present a special, one-off Film + TV Crew Workshop Launch Lab – your ultimate guide to discovering your perfect place in the dynamic screen industry.

This isn’t just about learning what jobs exist; it’s about connecting your natural inclinations with essential crew roles in film + TV.

Are you a sonic visionary who loves to sculpt immersive audio landscapes and bring stories to life through sound? Then a career in Sound Design could be calling your name. Do you thrive on problem-solving and navigating complex logistics, with a knack for finding just the right spot for a scene? Then diving into the world of a Location Manager could be your ideal path. If you have a passion for visual storytelling and a talent for creating tangible worlds from concepts, the Art Department offers roles like Production Designer or Set Dresser. Do you have an acute attention to detail and a highly organised mind, essential for tracking continuity, script changes, and scene information across every take? Perhaps a career as a Script Supervisor is your true calling. If you have a keen ear and a passion for capturing pristine, high-quality audio on set, then exploring the world of a Location Sound Recordist might be the ideal fit for you.

We are bringing together an incredible array of screen professionals across several departments including Sound Design with Carlos A. Manrique Clavijo (The King of Kings, Ayaan, MaveriX), Script Supervision with Stephanie Jaclyn (The Last Daughter, First Day, Gymnastics Academy: A Second Chance!), Production Design with Jonah Booth-Remmers (The Speedway Murders, Monolith, Thou Shalt Not Steal), Location Sound with Josh Williams (Stateless, Wolf Creek & Aftertaste) and Location Management with Lewis Kennedy, (The Last Daughter, Summer Love, A Beginners Guide to Grief).

Each industry professional will offer intimate, hands-on demonstrations and captivating presentations, revealing the fascinating details of their daily craft.

The day will culminate in an exclusive panel discussion and interactive Q&A, offering unparalleled insights directly from seasoned professional crew.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to gain insider access, explore your potential, and ignite your future in film and TV.

Each attendee can book a total of 3 x 1 hour workshop sessions running from 10:00AM – 1:00PM.
